Project Description

When the fish are running, Melreni is ready to leap into action. Representing the latest thinking from the accomplished team at Warwick Yacht Design and built to the most exacting standards by Circa Shipbuilders, this 70ft sportfisherman is full equipped for extensive expeditions to offshore fishing grounds lesser vessels only dream of. With 9000 litre fuel capacity, twin 1200hp Man diesels will reel off 1200 nautical miles at 10 knots. A cursing speed at 22 knots is attained at 2100 rpm and, in half-ship trim, top speed comes at 27 knots.

With two fighting chairs and an expansive cockpit, let the work begin. And once the reel begins to scream and those explosive leaps signal a major trophy is hooked, the helmsman can co-ordinate the chase from duel take command controls in the cockpit, ensuring every resource is devoted to the hunt. As the sun sinks below the horizon and the muscles ache with the satisfaction of a day’s game fishing. Melreni transforms into a haven. Sliding stainless steel and glass doors admit guest into the comfort of the superbly executed interior.

Built for the tropics, the vessel is fully air conditioned and features a distinctive enclose flybridge/skylounge. This doubles as a refuge from cold, or unruly conditioners well. The main helming station is located here, supported by a full array of electronics. Oiled teak cabin soles throughout are complemented by light tawa furnishings. The main saloon features a dining area to port with seating for up to eight. Before dinner drinks can be enjoyed at the curved counter to the starboard, behind which is a fully-equipped galley.

After dinner, guests can continue the evening’s conversation with coffee and liqueurs at the L-shaped settees forward of the dinging area. Or, retire to the skylounge, where another l-shaped settee wraps around a triangle inlaid teak and tawa table. The accommodations are located forward of the main saloon and down a level. Guests are catered for in two cabins, one featuring three single berths and the other a king double with ensuite facilities, which can also be accessed from the main companionway. The master cabin is forward with an island kingsize berth on the centerline and full facilities. Throughout the vessel, elaborate use of special effects lighting creates a variety of moods.
